A few things to know.
Which edition should I choose?
The Mac App Store edition includes the editing tools on this page and updates through the Store. Choose Studio if you also want an integrated terminal, Claude Code in the dock, or plugins that use git or the network. Both editions are free.
Does session restore save my file to disk?
It keeps a local snapshot so you can resume an open document, including unsaved edits. Use Save to write your changes to the actual file. Restore depends on your settings and available snapshots; keep backups for important work.
Can I edit without an internet connection?
Yes. Core text editing works locally without a Linelark account. Studio’s optional Claude Code and network-enabled plugins can connect to external services when you use them.
Will it work on my Mac?
Linelark requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later and supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
