Install

Three steps.

  1. Download the versioned DMG.
  2. Open it and drag Linelark Notepad Studio into Applications.
  3. Launch from Applications or Spotlight. Apple’s notarization ticket is stapled to the image.

Why keep older releases?+

A plugin or a workflow can depend on a particular build. Versioned files let you go back to the exact file and checksum you verified before.

Does Linelark update itself?+

Studio checks at launch and at most every six hours. When a newer release exists an Update button appears at the leading edge of the titlebar, counts the download up, and opens the image once it has verified its digest and Developer ID signature — you drag Linelark across as you did the first time. Help ▸ Check for Updates… asks immediately. The Mac App Store edition has neither, because Apple updates it.

Is Studio free?+

Yes. Studio is free and will remain free, with no subscription, paid tier, or Linelark account required.
