Linelark Notepad Studio
What shipped in 1.18.2.
Split the terminal inside its column
- The first split still places two terminals side by side. Once there are two columns, pressing Split in either pane places the new terminal below that pane. The chooser appears in the space the new shell will occupy, and cancelling it restores the previous layout.
- Closing either terminal in a stack ends only that shell. The other terminal expands into its space, while the neighbouring column keeps its running session. The split button’s icon and tooltip show whether the next terminal will appear beside or below the current one.
Adding a workspace folder saves the workspace file
- Adding folders to an existing
.code-workspacenow saves the updated folder list immediately. Relative paths, folder aliases, settings, tasks and other existing sections are preserved. Duplicate folders and selections that contain no new directory leave the file untouched. - A workspace opened from Finder keeps its place as a temporary project: saving its added folders does not replace the project an ordinary launch restores.
An update installs and relaunches the app
- After downloading and verifying an update, Studio now replaces the installed application and relaunches it. Previously the update stopped at opening the disk image and left the installation to you.
Known limits in 1.18.2
- The terminal panel shows up to three shells in two columns. Terminal sessions are not restored after quitting the app.
- A project without a
.code-workspacefile still needs Save Workspace once to choose where to keep it. Automatic workspace saving applies when adding folders; removing a folder still requires saving the workspace. - The universal Studio download requires macOS 14 or later. Touch ID and Mac-password vault unlocking use the provisioning profile included in the signed build; password and recovery-key access remain available without it.
